“ NEW ARRIVALS COMING SOON “
From One Generation To The Next
ML Secret Cookie Service began when I was born in October of 1967 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to my late parents, Eddie and Bessie Corner. Mom was a cook through and through—known around town as “The Cake Lady.” Her baking wasn’t just skill; it was a family inheritance, techniques passed down through generations. She held a place in the Kalamazoo community that went beyond recipes: people trusted her hands and her flavors.
Dad was a master of savory. He taught my siblings and me the essentials of good cooking—from perfectly roasted beef to smoking meat low and slow on the grill. His methods were practical, patient, and exacting, and they complemented Mom’s sweeter talents.
From those two kitchens—one full of cakes, pies, and pastries, the other rich with roasts and smoke—ML Secret Cookie Service drew its foundation. Our recipes are the result of lived tradition: the precision of my mother’s baking, the robust, hearty lessons from my father’s grilling and roasting, and the family stories that wrapped around every meal. Those early lessons taught us not just how to cook, but why each step matters: the right temperature, the timing, the feel of dough under your hands, the scent of spices released at the right moment.
Today, ML Secret Cookie Service carries forward that combined legacy. Our cookies reflect multi-generational techniques, balanced flavors, and a commitment to the kind of home-style quality that earned my parents their local reputations. Each batch honors a piece of Kalamazoo kitchen history—the Cake Lady’s careful touch, Eddie’s slow-smoke patience, and the everyday table conversations that turned simple ingredients into something unforgettable.
Marlon and Lilly Corner are President and Vice President of ML Secret Cookie Service, continuing a multigenerational family baking tradition. Marlon enforces production standards—quality control, ingredient sourcing, and consistent baking—to preserve the brand’s signature texture and flavor. Lilly archives and documents recipes and oral histories, trains bakers in technique, and leads seasonal product development that respects the original style. Their priorities are preservation (documenting and training), consistency (measurable controls with a handmade feel), and adaptation (small innovations for modern tastes). Their leadership keeps the family secret central while enabling reliable, scalable growth.
